Barack Obama Clinches the Demoncratic Nomination

Barack Obama Clinches Nomination
Sen. Barack Obama has clinched the Democratic nomination for president, according to CNN estimates, making him the first African-American in U.S. history to lead a major-party ticket.
Sen. Barack Obama on Tuesday will tell supporters he is the Democratic nominee, according to his campaign. “Tonight, I can stand before you and say that I will be the Democratic nominee for president of the United States.”
Obama picked up a slew of superdelegate endorsements on Tuesday. Those endorsements, combined with the delegates he’s projected to receive from South Dakota’s primary, will put him past the 2,118 threshold, according to CNN estimates.
By doing so, he shattered a barrier more than two centuries old to become the first black candidate ever nominated by a major political party for the nation’s highest office.

Exactly Why We Need to Impeach Bush and Cheney

Impeach Bush and Cheney for Violating the Constitution:

Alexander Hamilton asserted that an impeachment was warranted for “those offences which proceed from the misconduct of public men, or, in other words, from the abuse or violation of some public trust… as they relate chiefly to injuries done immediately to the society itself.” And James Madison at Virginia’s ratification convention stated: “A President is impeachable if he attempts to subvert the Constitution.”

This is an excellent and clear break down of precisely why we need to impeach President Bush and Vice President Cheney. It honestly makes me feel embarrassed to be an American to know that my country has not stood up against these terrorists to democracy. Yes, you heard me right. President Bush and Vice President Cheney are no better (and maybe even worse) than the same terrorists they claim to be trying to hunt down. It’s time for all Americans to stand up. Defend your country, and end this illegal war.
Just in case you needed a short list of reasons: The torture of prisoners, the detaining of people (including American citizens) without a trial, waging an illegal war, blatantly lying to the American public about said illegal war, killing thousands of innocent Iraqi citizens, illegally spying on American citizen, the criminal negligence of mishandling hurricane Katrina relief…just to name a few reasons.

Surgeon General Sees 4-Year Term as Compromised

Surgeon General Sees 4-Year Term as Compromised

Former Surgeon General Richard H. Carmona told a Congressional panel Tuesday that top Bush administration officials repeatedly tried to weaken or suppress important public health reports because of political considerations. The administration, Dr. Carmona said, would not allow him to speak or issue reports about stem cells, emergency contraception, sex education, or prison, mental and global health issues. Top officials delayed for years and tried to “water down” a landmark report on secondhand smoke, he said. Released last year, the report concluded that even brief exposure to cigarette smoke could cause immediate harm.

A sad and disgusting look at the Bush administration. As if we didn’t already hate these incompetent assholes enough already. Nothing like going out of your way to lie to America even when you know it could cause grave harm. Gotta love our president…yet another reason to impeach the bastard.

'Daily Show' mocks Cheney's 'secret secrets'

‘Daily Show’ mocks Cheney’s ‘secret secrets’

“Dick Cheney exists neither in the executive branch nor the legislative, yet simultaneously in both,” ‘Daily Show’ correspondent John Oliver adds. “He is neither man nor beast, yet has elements of the twain. He is at once everything and nothing, substance without form, shape without motion, time without reason… he is the Highlander.”

This is really funny. Unfortunately, I can’t quite track down the info to embed the video. So check the link for the video.

Democrats Plan to Cut Cheney Out of Executive Funding Bill

Democrats plan to cut Cheney out of executive funding bill

On Thursday, Emanuel suggested that if Cheney feels his office is not part of the executive branch “he should return the salary the American taxpayers have been paying him since January 2001, and move out of the home for which they are footing the bill.”

Really quite funny. What a funny response to such a ridiculously stupid claim made by Dick. I really truly hope we impeach this ass hat. I don’t know who is worse, him or Bush. Both of them need to to be impeached and tried for war crimes, but it’ll be a fight to see who deserves to go first.

Top 25 Censored Stories of 2007

Top 25 Censored Stories of 2007
An absolutely pathetic, disgusting, depressing, and appalling collection of news items that have been promptly ignored. I honestly hope that some day all of this bullshit that the Bush administration has lied about comes to light. I can’t wait to see the breaking news report some day in the future when they come knocking on Bush’s door to take is lying arrogant ass off to prison.
I will be VERY happy the day this man gets what he deserves (which is a VERY slow, VERY painful death). No, no joke. He has the blood of thousands of innocent people on his hands.

New Bill To Protect Bloggers Under Shield Law

New bill to give bloggers same shield law protection as journalists

The House of Representatives has amended the Free Flow of Information Act of 2007 to include provisions to protect bloggers from being required to divulge their sources under certain situations in the same way as journalists. Instead of requiring journalists to be tied to a news organization, the bill now defines “journalism” to focus more on the function of the job: “the gathering, preparing, collecting, photographing, recording, writing, editing, reporting, or publishing of news or information that concerns local, national, or international events or other matters of public interest for dissemination to the public.”

Well this is great news. It took them long enough to get this right.

Bush Hits All-Time Low

Bush Hits All-Time Low

It’s hard to say which is worse news for Republicans: that George W. Bush now has the worst approval rating of an American president in a generation, or that he seems to be dragging every ’08 Republican presidential candidate down with him. But According to the new NEWSWEEK Poll, the public’s approval of Bush has sunk to 28 percent, an all-time low for this president in our poll…The last president to be this unpopular was Jimmy Carter who also scored a 28 percent approval in 1979.

I thought this was pretty sad and funny.
