Here some things that I have noticed new in this build.
- IIS 7 is finally here, the new Administration UI is beautiful. All
of the features are organized under different categories that makes
finding what you need very easy. Screens to come. - USB thumb drive as virtual RAM. Plugin a USB thumb drive and it
asks if you want to use some of the space to “speed up the system”,
haven’t noticed any real speed increase after adding 750MB - New build of Windows Mail, looks like Outlook Express with a slight
visual make over, need to look into this more. - WMP11, has the full glass look, smooth animations of album art,
quick and responsive. - New build of WinCal, using glass as well, the seemed to have gotten rid of the “Publish to RSS” that was in build 5219 (it might have been earlier than that), but this is coming along nicely. This may just be the Windows iCal killer we’ve all been dreaming of.
- New build of Media Center, a lot quicker than 5231, (I don’t have a
media center PC so I can’t really test this all that well) - New Build of IE7, a bit more polished than 5231. It looks like they
are just putting the finishing touches on the UI, but I still need to
test it’s CSS2/3 support.
