Simple Blood Test Will Accurately Diagnose Anxiety

Simple Blood Test Will Accurately Diagnose Anxiety

A new technique that can accurately diagnose anxiety disorders by performing a simple blood test, was developed at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The researchers hope that the anxiety blood test will soon make its way into hospitals and E.R. rooms and give doctors and psychiatrists a quick and precise tool for examining, and eventually treating, these disorders. The team has recently started work on another common illness – depression.

As an individual with both of these (anxiety and depression) …this is freaking cool. Though, I guess I am not seeing how this could aid in the treatment, this only seems to help with the diagnosis of. Ah well, hopefully there will be more coming out about this soon.

AIM Buddy Info

AIM Buddy Info

Here’s a new way to waste some more time in your life. Note: This requires that you have a working AIM account, when you follow the link it will ask you to sign in first. This reads in your buddy list and then displays a webpage of all of your buddies away messages and profiles (this is configurable). Pretty cool, but all pretty useless.  As if you needed more ways to procrastinate by reading away messages. smile

No-www.org philosophy

No-www.org strives to make the Internet and communications about it as fruitful as possible. To that end, we make the modest proposal that website makers configure their main sites to be accessible by domain.com as well as www .domain.com.

Our ideal scene is one where non-specialized sites accept traffic on the www host name, but silently redirect it to the bare domain name. This is what no-www calls Class C. However, any site that takes in traffic one way or the other on both the www host and the bare domain are acceptable here.

A rather interesting idea that really does make sense in this stage of the internet. It is assumed your website is www., it’s not like there is www2, www3, etc. If someone doesn’t know to automatically include www in the address they are trying to reach…well, that is a bit sad. Also, it is a very simple configuration for web designers to put incoming www requests to the root domain without the user even having a clue what just happened.  Just a random thought, the www is only for the sake of appearance, to make extra sure that people know they are seeing a webpage though we could just include “http://” for that same purpose.

Just In: Flock v0.5 Developer Preview

Flock v0.5 Developer Preview

The newest version of the Firefox based web browser is out. You needed to be subscribed to the newsletter to get it…

You’ve asked us to let you take a peek at what we’re working on.  Today,

we are pleased to invite you to try out the latest private preview of what will very soon become the public Flock Developer Preview.

Well, let’s put it this way. We know there are some good ideas already baked into Flock — inspired by the way we all already use the web. And we’ve been busting our butts to get the code out there so we can start getting feedback from the bleeding edge — and we’re almost there.

But we need you, dear readers, to help us identify the 2 or 3 bugs that annoy you the most before we show our code.

So there you have it, in the spirit of open source, here’s how to get the Flock Developer Preview.

I would never send you guys to the horrible Rapidshare website to download this like the author of that post did…here is a link for you to download and try this out:
