Exclusive: Microsoft Office 12 Build 12.03111.1010 Has Leaked

It’s official, Build 12.03111.1010 of MS Office 12 has leaked it’s way onto the internet.  I’ve had a bit of a chance to play with it and some quick comments:

  • I love absolutely Outlook 12.
  • I like the “ribbon” idea, it really does work very well. I was using features I never knew were in Office and features I had previously had no idea how to use.
  • Even for an early build, Office is quick and responsive. It’s just going to get better.

Screenshots to come tomorrow…stay tuned.  cool smile

Tomorrow is Today

Why is tomorrow not today,

Why are you not here,

now.

I am tired of waiting,

we shouldn’t have to wait,

something this right,

shouldn’t have to be waited for.

You have to work for things that are worth it,

we’ve worked quite a bit.

We’ve made it through what most

others

would never make it through

in the beginning.

We’ve proven them wrong so far

We never had to prove it to ourselves.

We knew.

We felt it.

Less than 2 weeks.

It feels like it’s 2 months.

These 2 weeks will be longer than those 2 months apart.

I just want you

in my arms,

and I want you

to tell me to never let go.

Blogography: The Six Stages of Technological Acceptance

Blogography: The Six Stages of Technological Acceptance

Blissful Ignorance – People seem to start in a state of blissful ignorance. They are not aware of what is going on around them and frankly don’t care.

Denial– People have heard about this new technology, but it’ll never take off and its not something they will ever need to know.

Anger – People don’t get why everybody else thinks the technology is interesting and they don’t, so they get angry.

Acceptance – Finally people come to the conclusion that if enough people think the technology is interesting, they better start learning about it or risk being left behind.

Understanding – The light-bulb goes on and people start to get why the new technology is so interesting.

Enthusiasm – People get good at the new ways of thinking and actually start getting other people interested in the technology.

EverFast USB Stick Battery Charger – Gizmo

EverFast Battery Charger

EverFast USB Stick Battery Charger. It charges NiMH batteries, which are a decent eco-friendly alternative to those alkalines you are despoiling the earth with. The charger is available in AA and AAA versions, as well as single, double, and quadruple slot variations.

Wow this is kinda cool and yet so nerdy.  rasberry Ah well…they go on to say these aren’t for sale (for some strange reason) and they are only available as promotional products. Ah well…you’ll just have to suck it up and plug the thing into the wall.

Free SkypeOut Calls!

Free SkypeOut Calls!

A while ago, we announced global free calls to toll-free numbers. 1800FREE411 is just one of them. When you call it, it helps you look up a U.S. person or business from their directory service and then connects the call (assuming the person or business is listed in directory, of course). And the directory service bears the cost of the call as it seems to be ad-supported. So you use SkypeOut to connect to the service, and the service to connect to the one you’re calling.

I’ll have to give this a try soon, too bad they don’t support the foreign country that matters (*cough*…Norway *cough*) red face

ShinyFeet – Stomp out limitations!

ShinyFeet – Stomp out limitations!

Unlimited Email Space

Never worry about limited space again.

Unlimited File Storage

Store all of your files securely. Save email attachments into your ShinyFeet File Manager.

Photo Galleries

With unlimited file storage you can have years of photos, providing millions of pictures to share! While ShinyFeet Photo Gallery is still in Beta, we have captions and comments to give more content to your photos. Simply point your friends to: http://shinyfeet.com/yourusername

I haven’t had much of a chance to try this out yet, but everything I have read about it seems to be very positive. Best of all, it’s free. I wouldn’t exactly go trusting them with my credit card number or social security number, but it can’t hurt to store files that aren’t that important.

Goollery – Gmail based Gallery

Goollery

Not really all that practical (I’ll explain in a second), but it’s just cool to see another thing that is possible with Google Gmail service. The main problem with this interesting idea is that apparently Google doesn’t really like people using there accounts in this way and the inventor had his Gmail account permanently closed because he was using this application. So fair warning if you want to try this.

Inquisitor ~ Instant Search

Inquisitor ~ Instant Search

Inquisitor is an instant search technology that takes the waiting out of searching the web. It is an AJAX-style web application that retrieves web results and suggestions as-you-type.

I haven’t played around with this all that much, but I thought I’d get it out there if anyone wanted to try it out.
