Well, I haven’t been blogging my recently, well less than normal for me, lol. When I have been posting they have almost entirely been of a technology nature. This is not entirely accidental. I obviously find it a lot easier to post about things that are quite so close to home. These past few days (about a week now) I have been really down. I mean, really down. Anyone who knows me, knows how much of a technology/computer nerd I am. To give you an idea how down I was feeling, I didn’t even have the energy or drive to blog. Yeah, I know, it was that bad. I’ve instead wasted my time this past week either sleeping an excessive amount, I’ve been averaging 10 hours a night, watching tv/movies (just watched Return of the Kind Extended Edition, yes: all 4+ hours of it), and playing World of Warcraft…in fact here are 2 more screenshots of my latest exploits:
Here is a gallery of the current “new computer”:
This thing is going to be damn sexy when I am done with it. Here are the current specs:
HD (x2 in a RAID 0):
Maxtor 160GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive, MODEL 6Y160M0, OEM Drive Only
DVD-R/RW and DVD-ROM:
Sony Internal 16X DVD+/-RW / Double Layer Drive Black, Model DW-D22A-B2, OEM
I will use the current 17in LCD I have as well as the Maxtor 120GB External 7,200 RPM HD and the Maxtor 160GB Internal 8MB Cache 7,200RPM HD for a grand total of 600GB of storage
No elephants are dead, not even a dead hare or rabbit. I think animals can sense disaster. They have a sixth sense. They know when things are happening
Instead of talking about all the death and destruction I will take a different spin on this, the interesting things that came out of this horrible event.
Caption: A beautiful and yet incredibly subtle picture that tells a story…Stopped at the hour on Sunday that the tsunami struck the town of Banda Aceh in Indonesia.
If anyone has an interest in seeing video footage of the Tsunami hitting the coast check out this link…it has mirrors to the plethora of video files out there from several different countries, also if you’re having trouble with any of the downloads let me know and I will provide a link to the copies I have.
I am not a religious person as you all may know, but my prayers are with those suffering from this terrible event.
This is always a great read…
zeit·geist | Pronunciation: ‘tsIt-“gIst, ‘zIt | Function: noun | Etymology: German, from Zeit (time) + Geist (spirit) | Date: 1884 | Meaning: the general intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of an era
Since I am in the process of building and buying my new computer I’ve found this to be a great resource, granted it’s about 2 years out dated, but that’s ok…it’s more or less correct still.
A rather amusing and interesting read that analyzes Gollum’s mental state as presented by the Lord of the Rings movies and books. I guess I think it’s interesting just because I am a psychology dork, but that’s ok with me. Hardcore LOTR’s fans will likely enjoy it also.
A completely useless website from an accessibility and standards point of view…but a rather cool idea for a site. Too bad it’s flash
MSN’s Desktop Search is a surprisingly powerful desktop search tool, with loads of hidden features and hacks. Wei-Meng Lee opens up the hood and takes a look, and fills you in on what he finds.
A nice review about this wonderful little application…lots of useful tips also.
