So there have been several site updates tonight. I got into the beta test for EE (Expression Engine) v1.2b which happens to include several brand new modules. The most exciting (in my opinion) has to be the Image Gallery module. People have been asking for a Image Gallery integration (i.e. Module) for almost a year now and finally the developers have answered our call.

It’s still very basic, but it’s a beginning. I am not quite sure If I am going to ditch my current Image Gallery solution, Coppermine, because it’s still leaps and bounds beyond this Gallery Module. Granted, this is not to down play the coolness of this new module, I am just saying Coppermine is a bit more established and refined right now.
The other new module of interest is the integration of the Blogger API. This enables the use of external applications (i.e. not your web browser) to post to your blog. While this is especially nice, it’s not much quicker to fire up this Blogging application instead of just firing up your web browser. Again, it’s just the coolness factor. Currently, I haven’t been able to get the new API working with the Firefox extension JustBlogIt! or the nice little app W.Bloggar. Ah well. better luck soon I guess.
