New iPod’s on Monday…

Just a quick little preview of what the new iPod’s will look like. I don’t have any confirmed specs on these babies yet… These will be the 4th generation (4G) iPod’s we’ve been looking forward to for a while now…a separate announcement for iPod mini’s is expected in early August probably.

Some of the rumored new features:

– Integrated Wifi ONLY for transfering of songs FROM computer TO iPod, not Between iPods (Possibly 802.11G, but probably 802.11a/b)

– Possible Color Screen (this is highly unlikely)

– Longer battery length

– Thinner footprint

– New storage sizes (60GB has been all but confirmed already)

Well it’s been all but confirmed that the new iPods will have:

– a different jog dial on the front (similar to the current iPod mini’s)

– 50% longer battery life, carrying it up to 12 hours approx

– a new, streamlined menu system

– no color screen as previously reported (same white color)

– a estimated $100 price deduction on each iPod model

– thinner footprint

– center headphone jack
