Sitting here sipping my iced coffee…

I always wonder why things seem so much more thought provoking when you’re bored. It’s not like they are any more interesting. Ah well, at least it’s something to keep me busy.

So I started tanning yesterday. No, it’s not just for the heck of it, and no I don’t have time to lay outside and do it naturally. I’m working 40 hours a week damn it. lol. And no Clare, I am not gay, or a pretty boy, or anything else you said. The hope is that by getting a decent tan now when I go on vacation in 19 days 14 hours and 20 minutes (not that I am counting or anything) I won’t fry for the first few days. So to all of you making fun of me, …I’ll be laughing at you as I lay in the sun and swim in the crystal clear water in the Caribbean….not burning. Here is a little picture just to hopefully make you jealous:

That is the extent of my amazing photo editing skills…please all gasp in awe (or horror). lol. Anyways…I supposed I should get back to work.

Dell’s New Beast: A 4-Way 64-bit Itanium 2 Server

CoolTechZone-Dell launches four-way 64-bit Itanium server

I came across this in my travels and my jaw just dropped. A single Itanium 2 processor is quite speedy…needless to say, 4 is just overkill for all but the most data intensive tasks. 32GB of RAM? …Wow, and obviously this comes at one hell of a price tag…but actually not all that bad considering the hardware you’ll be getting.

New Hard Drive Update

Well I got the external 120GB hard drive yesterday, copied over everything and formatted the corrupted 160GB hard drive. This new hard drive works beautifully. It’s nice looking, it’s quiet, and it’s fast (USB 2.0). Now I am going to copy all the information back onto the 160GB hard drive and use the 120GB for backup and other miscellaneous things. Maybe I’ll take some pictures soon…

Well crap Update

Well here is the news. I broke down and purchased a Maxtor 120GB external one touch hard drive. This thing is going to be beautiful. (and it was on sale) It should be here on Monday, they had to have one shippped to the store because they were sold out at the moment. With this bad boy plugged in I can finally recover all of my data without having to delete anything.

Check out the specs on my new baby…

The beast

And a very nice added bonus to prevent such shitty things from happening in the future…It has one touch backup. This will be such a nice thing. Literally all I do is set up what I want to back up, push the button whenever I go to bed, walk away from the computer, or whenever, and bam…backed up.

Oh yeah, with this new external hard drive my total storage capacity is a combinied 320GB. lol. Yeah, I know most of you are going “Why the hell do you need that much space?!” and the answer is simply “I will fill it up, just you watch.” =)

I’ll write up a little update once I get it on Monday.
